I love it, it shows that there is still a lot of good stuff on the Internet.” via Ronaldo Lemos 🗣️ How to Ruin a Great Conversation by Brian Daskam Neat list of things including: Treat therapeutic self-disclosure as the zenith of intellectual intimacy, Assume that talking about great books is the same thing as having a great discussion, and Focus on the form of your conversations to the neglect of the content. via Zach Ware I lived in a fun apartment in the West Village of New York City. It was documented in some photographs and I want to share on the internet on my 4 year anniversary of leaving NYC. 💻 The Dark Forest and the Cozy Web The cozy web is Venkatesh Rao's term for the private, gatekeeper-bounded spaces of the internet we have all retreated to over the last few years. It's the “high-gatekeeping slum-like space comprising slacks, messaging apps, private groups, storage services like dropbox, and of course, email.” via Allen Walton 👨🏻💻 QuickForget "This is a tool designed to assist in sending sensitive information through email. My October 2024 Life RecapI had dinner at Bryan Johnson's house, the longevity guy who wants to live forever. Plus I was the Master of Ceremonies for a conference with 1,500 people. Read my monthly recap from October 2024 here. Each month I take hundreds of photos and videos. These were a few of my favorites from October: I’ve also added 25 more photos throughout the article. Plus lessons learned, events I attended, interesting people, and more. New Technology ThingsLast week I did 3 things that felt very futuristic:
The self-driving cars are especially wild. They are so, so good. Way better than Uber or Lyft. I welcome our robot-driving overlords. I use FSD on my Tesla for 90% of my driving these days, too. It's gotten so much better. Major take-away: "The future is here. It's just not evenly distributed yet."
The EndThat's all for now. Things I'm currently watching to take my mind off the news:
It'll all work out. The future is bright. We'll get through this cycle, I promise. 🤠 Nick Gray p.s. Here's the About Me on my website if you forgot who I am. We met [HOWWEMET GOES HERE].
